How we work

We listen first: how we understand you before we design

Before we draw a line, we learn how you live, what you feel at home, and what you want your space to say.

A good plan solves the brief. A great one fits the way you actually live. So before we draw a single line, we spend time understanding the people who will live, work or run a business in the space.

Routines, not rooms

We ask about your day rather than a list of rooms: who wakes first, where the family gathers, where guests are received, how cooking really happens, where elders need easy access, and what the children will need ten years from now. A family that watches films together every weekend needs a different living room from one that hosts large gatherings.

Feelings are part of the brief

How do you want to feel when you come home in the evening: calm, open, private, proud? Light, ceiling height, materials and the walk from the gate to the living room shape those feelings as much as the square footage does. We also ask about places you remember, a grandparent’s courtyard, a favourite hotel, a quiet corner, because they often tell us more than any list of requirements.

Beliefs and traditions

Many of our clients want their homes planned to Vaastu or Manayadi Sastram. We plan with these principles from the first sketch rather than adjusting a finished design, so they shape the home instead of compromising it.

The site and the budget

We visit the site to understand orientation, sun, breeze, neighbours and levels, and we talk about budget early and honestly, so the design is the right size from the start. Our online cost estimate gives you a first range before we meet.

When you read the brief back and recognise yourself in it, that is when we start designing.
